Description
Have you ever felt afraid of being judged, ridiculed, misunderstood? Ray Schalk has. He sees glimpses of the next 24-48 hours. And he saw the love of his life die in a fire in her apartment. Now he has to save her–without her finding out about his strange ability. He doesn’t have much time. Approx. reading time: 15-20 minutes. Approx word count: 3,750.
Author Note: This was my first professionally published story, in Space and Time Magazine, Spring 2012. I stole the title from a student, who said she had to “hide the weird” or a boy she liked wouldn’t want to date her. (I advised her not to do that, of course.) The description of the car accident was very true-to-life, from the crash to the surgeon’s golf game. My “seeing” of the home run was real, too! Weird!
P.S.–If you like speculative fiction, horror, sci-fi, fantasy, and other weird stuff, Space and Time Magazine is still going on. Heavily recommended.
